Wage War
Fight Sin Everyday
Sin.
We are all cursed with it from the moment we enter the earth. We give in and are entrapped by sins like lust, greed, pride, and rage.
We give in to lust because we have no self-control. Pride overtakes us because we think we know everything. The love of money entices us because if we get just a bit more, we’ll finally be satisfied.
The more we sin, the more we grow numb to it and allow it to be who we are.
Christ came and conquered our sins through his life and his death so that we can live freely and find peace within this chaotic life but time and time again we choose to give in to sin because, I believe, we want to be our own boss, and we call it “living a little.”
The Bible says this;
James 4:17 NIV
If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.
If we are saved and we know the truth but do not follow it, sin is our lives and death is our prize. That is why we must wage war against our sins and live a life that is lead by the Holy Spirit and we must consciously change the way we live and act. That means instead of giving into our lust, we pray and seek the Lord to help us not give in. Instead of trying to be the best, we choose to trust God because he is the better than all things.
Yes we fall but Christ is there with us picking us back up and wiping away our tears of regret and helping us back on the road. Isaiah reminds us;
Isaiah 25:8 AMP
He will swallow up death [and abolish it] for all time. And the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from all faces, And He will take away the disgrace of His people from all the earth; For the LORD has spoken.
Jesus abolishes the sting of our sin and he takes away our disgraces.
Brother and sister, wage war against your sins with prayer, the word, and the community of fellow strugglers. This is the way we find freedom from the grip of sin.
